Biography

Growing up in New Jersey, Joachima (Kim) always remembers having a desire to play music, getting her first guitar as a birthday present at age 10.  She was raised in the Catholic faith, and played in church services with what was then called the folk guitar mass.  Kim was writing songs as a teenager, and began her Christian walk, accepting Jesus as her Savior in 1977 after meeting (then boyfriend, now husband) Jim, who influenced her greatly by allowing his faith in Christ to show through his words and deeds on a college campus!

Jim was born in Oak Hill, W.V., and made his decision to follow Christ in 1972 after serving in the U.S. Marines, upon his return from Vietnam.  Kim and Jim have three children, Christopher (who is married to Adia), Michael, and Eric.  Kim and Jim are also grandparents!  Chris and Adia have a daughter, Mayden Rae, born June 20, 2005, and  a son, Cameron Jude, born June 18, 2007.  Kim holds a degree in social work.  Jim's degree is in psychology, and he served as a counselor for troubled teens for 27 years.

...the story continues

Kim served on the worship team at her home church, Chestnut Assembly Of God in Vineland, NJ during the 1980's & 1990's as a musician, vocalist, and worship leader.  In 2000, she was asked to lead the worship team at Evangel Assembly Of God in Mays Landing, NJ, where she has been serving ever since.  Jim serves as the sound technician at Evangel, and both are part of the leadership team. Kim has written over 70 songs, mostly for congregational  worship.  She began recording her music so that she could leave a legacy of praise to her children (and now, grandchildren).   Others were asking for songs to take home with them,  and that led to the birth of Kim's CD, Created To Worship, which was completed in 2004.  Kim's new CD, STAND, is now completed and features 10 original songs.

my inspiration

Psalm 40:1-5 (NIV)
 1 I waited patiently for the LORD; He turned to me and heard my cry.

 2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire;
       He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

 3 He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.
       Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.

 4 Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust,
       who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.

 5 Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders you have done.
       The things you planned for us no one can recount to you;
       were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare.
